David Womersley

David Womersley was born in London in 1959, and studied illustration at Barking College of Technology and Manchester Polytechnic.

Throughout the 1980s David was an illustrator for numerous books, magazines, newspapers, and advertising campaigns in London and New York. His work even crossed over into the field of architecture.

In the 1990s his career took a turn as he became a background artist for Universal’s, An American Tail: Fievel Goes West. In 1996, he migrated to Walt Disney Animation Studios to supervise the creation of the first CGI Layout Department for the film Dinosaur. Since then he has worked as a Designer and Visual Development Artist on various short-subject and features length films for Disney including Chicken Little (as Production Designer), Bolt, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, and the Academy Award winning short film, Paperman.

David lives in Los Angeles.
