Born and raised in West Wales, David Wilson has been creating beautiful photographs since his youth. Wilson’s passion for photography began when he was 17 years old when he got his first camera. He would ride around the countryside on his motorbike and explore the country and coast with his 35mm Canon. In a beautiful area full of dramatic coastlines and a gorgeous countryside, Wilson developed a talent for landscape photography.

Wilson currently lives in Pembrokeshire where he continues to be inspired by his natural surroundings. “In essence I photograph the Pembrokeshire I see throughout the year. Living here I witness both its beauty and bleakness.” The beauty and the bleakness are perfectly suited for his preferred medium, black and white photography, with which he can capture “the mystery and magic of the monochrome landscape.” While he admits that he appreciates color photography as well, Wilson prefers black and white because it can convey both drama and tranquility. “Each time I revisit a black and white landscape I see, sense or feel something new depending on my mood at the time.” It is this versatile nature of his photographs that make Wilson such a popular artist.
