Chico Art Glass
Scott Chico Raskey was born in Ludington, Michigan. At the advice of a teacher, Raskey began to learn about glass blowing. After high school, he traveled to Europe to learn more about the process in Murano, Italy. Raskey secured an apprenticeship with Peter Straud at Glaskunst aus Hopfen, Germany.
Raskey was able to establish numerous contacts within the glass studios of Germany, Czeckaslovakia, and France. He went on to teach for the German Glass School Glass House Wertheim. Along with a team of glassblowers, he traveled throughout Europe to area glass schools providing demonstrations to glass schools.
Once back in the United States, Raskey established his own company Chico Art Glass where he continues to express himself through his work.
