A self-taught artist raised on the gulf coast of Florida, Ashton Howard has catapulted to the highest ranks of the fine art world in recent years. Inspired by the environment of his youth, Howard’s artwork primarily depicts the natural beauty of oceans and the tropics that evades most people in their daily lives. Howard learned what he knows about painting tropical views by spending his time around them. He spent his youth on the beaches of Florida, admiring the fine white sand and gem-hued sea. For years, he lived as a struggling artist and surfer on the coast of California, where he could study the whirling waves and sandy scenes. He has traveled the tropics around the world to gain inspiration and experience.
