  Blue, Vida
Born in 1949 in Louisiana, Vida Blue knew from a young age that he wanted to play baseball; he joined the major leagues in 1969 when he began playing for the Oakland Athletics. He played for the team for nearly a decade, earning the AL Cy Young Award, MVP title, and TSN Pitcher of the year (all in 1971), and three World Series titles. It was during this part of his career that he threw a no-hitter in 1970. In 1978 Blue joined the San Francisco Giants and spent the rest of his career playing with them, aside from 1982-1983 when he was with the Kansas City Royals. Blue retired from playing professional baseball after the 1986 season.
