Born in 1978 in Pennsylvania, LaVar Arrington is earned a name for himself as a linebacker in the National Football League. Arrington played collegiate football at Pennsylvania State University, earning himself an All Big-Ten selection and two All-American selections, in addition to the Butkus, Bednarik, and Lambert Awards. At the 2000 NFL draft the Washington Redskins drafted him second overall and Arrington played with the team until 2006, when he joined the New York Giants. While he hasn’t played since that season, he also has not officially retired. In his short but impressive career, Arrington was also selected to the Pro Bowl three times and to the All-Pro second time twice.
