Yvonne Mora was born in Lima, Peru in 1959. In 1986, she graduated with honors from the Escuela National de Bellas Artes South America Promotion Suruolo Guiterrez. Due to her unique style, in the beginning of her career, Mora had a hard time finding art dealers who were interested in her work. In 1987 a surge in interest in her paintings from the Japanese and Americans boosted her reputation as an artist. Mora has visited Japan and North America on several occasions at the request of the loyal galleries that represent her as well as her dedicated collectors. In 1988 she worked on completing commissions after the sucess of her solo exhibition at the Tsukuba Gallery. Aside from solo exhibitions, Mora has participated in group shows which include the Biennial Miami Instituto Popular de Arte, Salon de Verano Ancon, Japan Afro Asian Latin American Aritsts Association, America 92, and Acuerdo de Cartagena.
