"Red Lily" is a limited edition hand pulled original lithograph on museum quality deckle-edge paper, numbered and hand signed by Victoria Montesinos. Includes Certificate of Authenticity! Measures approx. 21" x 31" (no border). This lithograph was created on a rare antique Marinoni Voirin French press that dates back to the 1800's. It provides highly pigmented inks that will resist fading and preserve the integrity of the print for more than a lifetime. This process is the most elaborate, costly and effective way to reproduce art while maintaining the brilliance and accuracy of the original creation.

Victoria Montesinos was born in Mexico City to a renowned Mexican movie director Fernando A. Rivero. By 1983 she relocated from Mexico to the U.S. to create lithographs after she was contracted by one of the largest galleries in the U.S. While Montesinos was working in New York she had the opportunity to work with acclaimed surrealist painter Leonora Carrington, which was highly educational for her. Despite her success in the United States, Montesinos made a decision to return to Mexico. While home her style evolved to include oil paintings and serigraphs on textile. When she returned to the U.S. in the 90’s she made a decision to paint flowers primarily. “I really wanted to explore and go inside their world, find all the textures, layers and passages of just one flower. They are small universes and I feel captured by their beauty. Flowers are an incredible way for nature to show the infinity of existing colors.”
