Raised in Zaragoza, Spain, Rosa McMurtray studied at the Zaragoza School of Art where she was mentored by one of the most famous engraver artists in her homeland, Pascual Blanco Piquero. After graduating in 1982, Rosa moved to England where she studied English for a year, and then on to Naples, Italy. While in Naples, Rosa became fluent in Italian while studying under the recognized artist, Rosario Piazza. In 1989 Rosa again relocated to the United States where she furthered her studies of fine arts at Westchester University and Georgia State University. During this time, Rosa frequently traveled to Europe, which precipitated a career shift where she expanded her role from artist to dealer. At the same time, she continued to hone her craft under two of the most acclaimed contemporary artists in Madrid, Guillermo Oyaguez and Sanchez Alonso. The Spanish-born artist currently lives in Buckhead, Georgia but her art is exhibited on both sides of the Atlantic including Los Angeles, New York, Minnesota, Georgia and Alabama.
