Born in the Great Northwest and raised on fishing, hunting and camping trips with his family, Paul Henderson was possessed by a great love of nature and wildlife - and art was his chosen format to express that. He was a mostly self-taught artist until his college years, then began to study art seriously after graduation, attending a variety of classes.

While working full time to support himself, Henderson experimented with and improved his art, transitioning from his own style of 'meticulous restraint' towards the more freeform stylings of abstract and surrealist art. As always, he felt the call of the wild, as it were, and learned about animal anatomy by taking a course in taxidermy.

Soon, Henderson was able to study under several accomplished and well known artists such as the "Rockwell of Western Art" Don Crook, and Daniel E. Green, one of America's foremost portrait painters and pastel artists. He perfected his technique and went on to exhibit his work at a variety of galleries from Oregon, California and Nevada to Hawaii, where the Central Art Galleries of Hawaii began to feature his work after the then king of Saudi Arabia asked them about Henderson's work.

Always one to experiment, Henderson 'stumbled' upon a quirky new way to create art back in 1986, when his 5 year old daughter spilled his cup of ever-present coffee across the piece he was working on. Thus was launched his 'new career' as "The Original Fine Art Coffee Painter - Painted With 100% Coffee" - his creations quickly inspiring a loyal fanbase. Not bad for an artist from the Northwest, a region famous for bringing Starbuck's to the world.

Henderson continues to paint his incredible wildlife, abstract, Americana and, of course, experimental masterpieces from his home base in America's Great Northwest, as always, "espress-ing" himself!
