Jerome Stumphauzer is a self-taught artist and has been painting for over 30 years. His mediums are oil and photography. He started by copying some of the works of master artists and learned from their use of composition, color and light. Artists that have influenced him range from Leonardo da Vinci to Claude Monet and Salvador Dali. There is often a touch of whimsy, fantasy and humor in his work. His love for animals, the sea and sunlight can be seen in his paintings. Much of his art has a "save the environment" theme.

Stumphauzer's art has been stimulated by his many world travels and especially by trips to five African countries, Europe and the South Pacific. He loves the outdoors and has been scuba diving all over the world. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology, has written four books and is currently illustrating his own book for children based on one of his paintings. Over the years his art has been featured in many galleries and by several art associations. HIs paintings are in collections in America and Europe. Stumphauzer is a long-time resident of the eclectic artistic community of Venice, California.
