Ana Maria Deza was born in Lima, Peru in 1959. She studied painting at the ENBA, from where she graduated with the highest honors in ’89. She is considered to be one of the most talented impressionist artists of South America. Her skilled use of light color sets her apart from the other impressionist painters. Married to another well established artist, Jose Cortez, Ana Maria is secure in her professional standing. Deza has many honors and distinctions and studied etching in addition to her other distinguished achievements.
