Greg Davis

Greg Davis spent many of his adult years thriving in the technology business, but after ten years he realized was unsatisfied. At the same time, his father passed away and Davis was confronted by his own mortality. Unwilling to be chained to a desk for the rest of his life, he resigned in 2004 and took an epic journey around the world, visiting places Papua New Guinea, Cuba, Vietnam, Burma, Spain, Morocco, Turkey, South Africa, Mexico, India, and Nepal, among other places. On this trip, he began developing his skills as a photographer using only a $400 point-and-shoot Olympus camera. Despite never having any formal art or photography training, the photographs he took on this year-long trip were stunning. Upon his return to the United States and his home in Texas, friends and family were impressed with his work and encouraged him to exhibit and sell it. Davis has since exhibited his work at the Austim Museum of Art, numerous Arts Festivals in Austin, Houston, Chicago, and across the nation. His art has been well-received both in America and internationally and he has been published in the U. S., England, and Mexico. Davis continues to develop his photography skills and hone his natural talent and he plans to take another epic journey with one motto in mind: “Don’t look back; you’re not headed that way.”
