Jane Wooster Scott

Considered among the finest painters of Americana, Jane Wooster Scott is renowned world-wide and has earned the Guinness Book of World Records accolade of being the "Most Reproduced Artist in America." Her art captures the 'small-town' experience of the United States and the American culture in which she was raised. Portraying this country life quaintly and artfully, her paintings enchant and charm viewers universally. Wooster Scott herself does the same just as well. A glamorous and energetic personality in her own right, the artist is at home with 'the Rich and Famous' who collect her art as well as the ordinary people who are the subjects of her artwork.

Included in permanent displays of the American embassies in Portugal and Australia, Wooster Scott's creations are widely collected and exhibited, with renowned actors and celebrities hosting her shows as well as purchasing her remarkable artwork. Wooster Scott has counted among her many fans such stars as Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kirk Douglas, Dyan Cannon and Carol Burnett and Steve Wynn, as well as departed luminaries of Hollywood's Golden Era, among them: Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Charles Bronson, Merv Griffin, Henry Fonda and Gene Kelly.

Wooster Scott discusses the drive behind her art, saying, “It gets increasingly difficult to find the United States as I imagine it was a century ago - the barns, stables, cottages and town halls. Water pumps and windmills, covered bridges and one-room school houses are disappearing. But I intend to continue to seek out the remaining treasures of our heritage and paint them for my own joy and for people who share my love of country."
